In 1997 I moved to London following my passion for the colors and cosmopolitan atmosphere of the capital. There,  I have found the perfect mixed between Art and contemporary Society. I describe my type of work as Figurative art, clearly derived from real or imaginary scenes and imaginary people representing the human figure and are therefore, by definition, representational. My “Figurative art” is often defined in contrast to my abstract art representing in large scale common people on their habits and life styles. Since the first abstract works from my early age, I have been used the term “figurative” to refer to any form of modern art that retains strong references to the real world and space around me. However, I used “abstract” as a synonym for non-representational and non-objective which has no derivation from figures, objects or concepts represented, instead, only by forms and strong colors.

The formal and essential elements, those aesthetic effects created by my design, upon which my figurative art is dependent, includes lines, shapes, colors, light and dark, mass, volumes, textures, and perspectives. Although, it should be pointed out that these elements of design could also play a role in creating other types of imagery such an abstract concept or theme. The difference is that in my figurative art these elements are deployed to create an impression or illusion of form and space, and, usually, to create emphasis in the narrative portrayed. My common genre of “portraits” has the intent to depict the visual appearance of the subject. I usually applied this term to the depiction of human subjects whenever I work on commission, for public and private persons, or may be inspired by admiration or affection for the subject. I consider a well-executed portrait where I expect to show the inner essence of the subject from my artist point of view or a flattering representation, not just a literal likeness. As Aristotle stated, “The aim of Art is to present not the outward appearance of things, but their inner significance; for this, not the external manner and detail, constitutes true reality”

I was born in Carpi, Northern Italy and I was educated starting to draw and paint at a very young age displaying a profound aptitude for art. I entered primary school receiving tuition and encouragement by my art teacher to  participate in art-related activities. I was later educated in Tuscany (Grosseto) studying methods of painting, drawing, and art history trough different techniques such as Encausto and Trompe d’Oeil but still consider my art education as a self made painter. I have gained a certain celebrity status amidst famous prizes and my art became more personal, beginning my art career at the age of twenty. My first official recognition came in 1996 during my solo exhibition in Modena. I have then exhibited my works between Bologna, Milan and Tuscany trough a number of successful events.

Among the other possible variables, the subject can be clothed or nude; indoors or out; standing, seated, reclining. They can be created in various media including oils, acrylics, pencil, charcoal, pastel and mixed media combining a range of painting techniques – gluing, dripping, pouring and glazing- to produce these natural, haunting images. The non-locations and enigmatic front poses are combined in my paintings, alive in colors and gripping in content. With deep and strong lines, dark and light contrast I show the depths of passion and poetic personality of the subjects. Alive and engaging, my paintings are for people with verve in their heart. I use a method of painting in which abstraction and figurative images combine and reinforce each other effect. My work has a mixed of delicate and strong compositions and color adding drama and warmth, vibration and great emotional power with masculinity and sensitivity.

In 2015 I moved to ibiza where I'm leaving at the present. As soon I reached the Island I started to exhibit my works in a number of different shows including important and famous locations such as B12 Gallery and Heart Club. The success has been immediate and I'm currently work on different art projects. Since few months ago I'm also working as Art Director on a new project called ETHEREAL where Art Music and Visuals together create a dynamic and strong fusion.

I’m an artist with strong intensity where energy, poetic faces and figurative bodies display profound sensitivity and an emotional spirit.
